Dr. Aurelia reported: I am a female gynecologist and Obstetrician at one of the American Hospitals… One day, an Arab Muslim woman comes to the hospital, in a great deal of pain and was even a bit sluggish, which is common prior to birth. This all happened towards the end of my shift, so I told her I will be back later and for now I will alert the replacement doctor, Dr. Gerry, of her condition. She started repeatedly crying and whimpering half-heartily: No, I do not want a man!
I was astonished that she refused, with such conviction, a male doctor to come and inspect her. I was further shocked to realize that her entire life only her male relatives have ever seen her face.
The second day I went to check on her, during this visit I told her that that many women are subjected to internal infections and puerperal fever; because of the continuation of the marital relations during a period after birth. I explained to her that the need for abstinence of such relations was dire and in her interest for at least 40 days. In the course of these forty days, she would need to eat a proper diet full of nutrition and stay away from physical activities, based on the findings of the latest medical research.
The women giggled and told me that she already knew this as it well known that Islam forbids intercourse within the 40-day period so that she may fully heal and becomes pure again, as well as being exempt from fasting and prayers.
When I heard this, she was stunned and looked at me wonder! Our research has come to the same teachings of Islam, but after an arduous of so many years and experiences?!?!?!
It entered the pediatric ward to check on the baby, and the baby was in the exact position I just told the mother: It is better for a new-born baby to lay on their right side; it helps the heartbeat be regular. I saw the father and asked him how did he know to do this, he responded with: We put him on the right side; in accordance with the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
Amazing this is also True!
Alas, many lifetimes elapsed for us to get to this point in science, and they have already known of this from their religion. I then decided to find out more about this religion. I took leave for a month and went to another city where there was large Islamic center, I spent most of the time asking questions and inquiring about anything I could think of. I even got to meet with Arab Americans and Muslim Americans. I was so moved and convinced, I converted to Islam just a few months later.
