The Islamic Presentation Committee announced that it is preparing to organize the first Umrah trips for new non-Arabic-speaking converts in 2024, as part of a series of trips to be organized successively for various nationalities.

Munif Al-Ajmi, the Director of the Committee in Ahmadi Governorate, Director of the Men's Branches, and Director of Hajj and Umrah at the committee, said that the first trip of this year will depart from the Mangaf branch on the 24th of this month, including 46 new converts who speak Sinhalese and Tamil.

Al-Ajmi added that this trip is the 340th since the launch of the Umrah for Converts project, and it is being organized with support from the family of Ali Youssef Al-Muzaini, may God bless his soul, under the slogan “Kuwait of Goodness,” fulfilling the wish of new converts to see the House of God Almighty.

Regarding what distinguishes the Umrah for Converts project at the Islamic Presentation Committee, Al-Ajmi said it is a comprehensive project aimed at giving the new convert a unique and special spiritual experience, bringing them closer to God and preparing them for the performance of Hajj in the future.

He explained that the project includes a set of special programs that ensure the converts can perform the rituals easily, noting that these programs begin before the trip by teaching them the rites and preparing them to perform them.

Al-Ajmi also mentioned that the committee assigns a preacher for each community during the trip, who is of the same nationality as the converts, guiding and directing them from the beginning of the trip until their return.

He pointed out that cultural competitions and activities are organized to strengthen the bonds between the new converts as they journey to the Holy Kaaba, increasing the spirit of brotherhood among them.

The committee has also prepared special programs in the sacred lands to familiarize the converts with religious sites and the holiest places, aiming to enhance their religious knowledge during the five-day trip.

Al-Ajmi concluded by thanking the benefactors who have shown great support for the project in fulfilling the dreams of the converts, noting that the door for donations is open for those who wish to contribute to future trips.
