No, we do not force anyone into doing anything against their will, although we explain to them the importance of wearing the Hijab in a gentle manner.

 12. My house maid has embraced Islam at IPC few days ago, but I’ve noticed she does not pray yet!

A new Muslim learns his/her religion gradually, obvious information to born Muslims might be completely new to the revert, especially acts of worship, they need time and practice. Reverts will benefit from imitating movements of prayer if other Muslims pray with them, even if they do not understand the words in the beginning. With regular attendance to the Basic Islam course that is available in IPC around the year, they will gradually learn all what they need to practice Islam exactly like the born Muslim.

 13. If a wife reverted to Islam, but the husband refused to revert, what happens to their marriage?

In Islamic law a Muslim woman cannot stay married to a non-Muslim man; nevertheless she can stay with her husband at the same house for three months (Ali’dda period) without spousal relations, during that time, the wife must try her best to persuade her husband to revert. If the husband reverted during this period; then the marriage is intact, but if not, then they must separate.

We normally provide this information to the new Muslim gradually, and give her time to truly know her new religion, and eventually accept separation.

There are many ways to convince people to revert to Islam, it varies according to the background of the person, our Daiyas will assist you with the information and the tools necessary to succeed in your task.
