The Women’s Branch of Al-Rawdah, affiliated with the Committee for Introducing Islam, organized an Islamic nasheed competition for students attending its courses, as part of the committee’s activities to support new non-Arabic-speaking Muslim converts.
Latifa Al-Saeed, Head of the Women’s Educational Division, stated that this competition is part of the cultural and recreational activities organized by the committee to enrich the religious awareness of the new converts and to foster their creative energies.
Al-Saeed added that this competition is an enjoyable and beneficial initiative that provides an opportunity for the converts to showcase their chanting talents, with a focus on guiding these talents towards instilling Islamic values and engaging with the issues of the Muslim community.
She explained that the educational division took care to select a collection of nasheeds that promote love for the Prophet (peace be upon him), encourage following his example, and inspire competition in spreading his biography.
The competition, which included participants from various nationalities, also featured nasheeds reflecting solidarity with the people of Gaza, encouraging support and advocacy, and raising awareness about the Palestinian cause. Notably, the performances were presented in both Arabic and English.
In conclusion, Al-Saeed expressed her happiness with the level of the participants, especially their excellence in chanting in Arabic, noting that winners and participants will be honored in a future ceremony.
