The Islamic Presentation Committee organized its 8th Annual New Converts Gathering, bringing together 200 new Muslims and several of the committee’s preachers from diverse non-Arabic-speaking nationalities. The event took place at Jahra Chalet and featured a range of activities.
Ammar Al-Kandari, the General Director of the Islamic Presentation Committee, emphasized that the gathering is part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to foster unity and a sense of belonging among new converts, helping them feel like part of a united, caring, and cooperative Muslim community.
Al-Kandari highlighted the diverse program of activities, which included sports such as football, traditional games, and cultural competitions, all conducted in a lively and engaging atmosphere among participants from different branches of the committee across Kuwait’s governorates.
He noted that this event is a direct outcome of the “Change Their Lives” campaign, which, with God’s blessing and the support of generous donors, has helped thousands of individuals discover Islam in their native languages. He dedicated this success to everyone who contributed to the campaign.
One of the highlights of the gathering was a live conversion to Islam, as a new believer officially embraced the faith, joining his fellow Muslims in a moment that deeply moved attendees. Al-Kandari emphasized that such moments are a common and heartwarming sight at the Islamic Presentation Committee, which, by God’s grace, has helped over 97,000 people embrace Islam in Kuwait.
Creating a Supportive Environment for New Muslims
Khaled Al-Sabe, the Director of Islamic Outreach at the Committee, explained that such gatherings serve as an important part of the committee’s care and support system for new converts. These events offer a friendly and engaging space for interaction and community building, helping new Muslims integrate into an inclusive and supportive Islamic environment.
Al-Sabe also highlighted the spiritual reflections shared during the event, focusing on themes such as righteous companionship, devotion to worship, and perseverance in faith. Special Ramadan-themed discussions were also conducted, with translations provided in the languages spoken by the attendees, ensuring that the messages were clearly and effectively delivered.
He expressed his joy at the enthusiastic participation and engagement of the new converts, emphasizing that such gatherings help them integrate into the Muslim community and strengthen their connection to the faith.
In his closing remarks, Al-Sabe thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the gathering, highlighting that their support reflects the community’s awareness of the importance of guiding and nurturing new Muslims. He expressed hope for continued support to organize more events and activities that strengthen the bonds between new converts and provide them with a welcoming and nurturing environment on their spiritual journey.
