The Islamic Presentation Committee (IPC) has launched the “Change Their Lives” campaign in conjunction with Ramadan, as part of its efforts to introduce non-Arabic-speaking communities to Islam in 14 different languages.
The committee’s General Director, Ammar Al-Kandari, stated that the campaign aims to engage the Kuwaiti community in supporting the committee’s dawah projects and caring for new converts, especially during Ramadan, a time when rewards multiply and interest in Islam increases significantly.
Al-Kandari added that, by the grace of Allah and through the support of its dawah initiatives, the committee has helped 97,000 people embrace Islam in Kuwait since its establishment. He expressed hope that the number of converts would surpass 100,000 by the end of this year.
Through the “Change Their Lives” campaign, the IPC seeks to achieve two primary goals. The first is to sponsor 50 preachers from various nationalities, who will be distributed among 17 branches and dawah offices across Kuwait’s six governorates.
He explained that sponsoring this number of preachers will allow the widest possible outreach, ensuring that invitees receive Islamic teachings in their own languages from preachers of their own backgrounds. The sponsorship cost for a single preacher is 250 KD per month.
The second goal of the campaign is to educate 5,000 new converts, with the cost of teaching one new convert set at 25 KD per course. These courses provide instruction in Islamic jurisprudence, the Quran, the Prophet’s biography, and the Arabic language.
Al-Kandari emphasized that supporting new converts religiously and culturally is the most crucial stage after their declaration of faith. This support helps them remain steadfast in Islam and perform acts of worship correctly. He noted that the “Teach Me Islam” project is Kuwait’s largest initiative for educating new converts.
He also pointed out that interest in Islam rises significantly during Ramadan due to the high levels of spirituality. The number of people embracing Islam during this holy month is three times higher than in any other month of the year.
Al-Kandari highlighted that calling others to Islam is one of the greatest paths to reward, citing the Quranic verse:
“And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteousness and says, ‘Indeed, I am of the Muslims.’” (Surah Fussilat 41:33).
He also reminded of the Prophet’s ﷺ hadith:
“By Allah, if Allah guides one man through you, it is better for you than the most valuable red camels.”
He concluded by inviting philanthropists and well-wishers to support the “Change Their Lives” campaign, ensuring that the message of Islam reaches those seeking guidance in Kuwait, so that everyone can earn the reward of dawah and educating new converts during this blessed month.
