The Islamic Presentation Committee (IPC) organized its 70th medical camp for expatriate workers as part of the Mercy Medical Project, in collaboration with the Indian Doctors Forum and Friday Forum Kuwait.

The committee’s General Director, Ammar Al-Kandari, stated that the camp, held at the residential complex of the Public Utilities Management Company in Amghara, coincided with Kuwait’s National and Liberation Day celebrations as a gesture of appreciation to expatriate workers for their role in the nation’s development.

Al-Kandari added that 25 doctors from various specialties, along with 20 pharmacists, nurses, and technicians, participated in the camp, benefiting 650 individuals of different nationalities, both Muslims and non-Muslims.

He emphasized that the Mercy Medical Project is a compassionate Kuwaiti initiative that provides essential medical support to underprivileged expatriate workers. It reflects Islam’s values of kindness and generosity, offering care without discrimination between Muslims and non-Muslims.

Al-Kandari expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor for authorizing and supporting the project, praising all those who contributed to the successful organization of the camp, which highlights Kuwait’s humanitarian spirit.

From his side, the Head of the Dawah Department at IPC’s Jahra branch, Ayed Al-Shammari, stated that the camp aims to assist impoverished workers who cannot afford medical treatment or consultation fees.

He explained that the medical examinations covered blood pressure, diabetes, internal medicine, respiratory health, ENT, ophthalmology, dentistry, orthopedics, dermatology, and more, conducted by an elite team of medical professionals.

Al-Shammari revealed that since its establishment in 2001, the Mercy Medical Project has benefited nearly 21,000 individuals, distributing 100,000 doses of medication, including boxes, tablets, and various treatments.

He concluded by thanking the Public Utilities Management Company, Aqfad Hamad Saleh Al-Humaidhi Pharmaceutical Company, and the Kuwaiti-Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries Company for their active participation and generous support, which contributed to the success of the camp.
