Friday prayer sermon

 10-04-2026

Friday is the day of covenant and pledge, the day of the Night Journey and Ascension—a day when spirituality is renewed and the worlds are lifted to their Maker. On this day, the mosque gathers us in a special moment of devotion as we perform the Friday prayer, one of Islam’s Five Pillars.

The Friday prayer is an obligatory act prescribed for every adult, able Muslim, held around midday. After the prayer, worshippers sit in circles for remembrance and learning, share experiences, and renew their covenant with God. It is a special time that brings together worship and mutual support in righteousness and piety.

The Friday sermon reminds us to be mindful of God, uphold honesty, and serve our communities.

It calls for unity, mercy, and good character in our daily dealings.

We leave the prayer renewed with purpose and gratitude.
